His industrial career has spanned senior positions at Johnson Matthey Metals, BP and the leading UK private steelmaker Sheffield Forgemasters covering research, marketing and business development.
Dion’s corporate finance career includes roles with JP Morgan, Chase Manhattan and Robert Fleming on a wide variety of mergers & acquisitions, debt & equity capital raisings, privatisations and strategic advisory assignments.
He has, amongst other transactions, acted in respect of the purchase of cobalt alloys manufacturer Deloro Stellite Group, public offer for nickel alloy specialist Doncasters, sale of French rebar business SAM to Riva, privatisation of Polish steel businesses Huta’s Sendzimira (flat products), Cedler (rebar) and Florian (coated flat products), privatisation of Romanian Integrated Steel Producer Sidex, sale of speciality stainless producer Lee Steel Strip, and sale of general foundry Breda Fondaria Meridinonali.
Dion is a British citizen and hold a Bachelor degree in Materials Science and a PhD in Metallurgy, both from the University of London.
